We had a fun crew screening last week of the 1-hour finale of Book 3. This will likely be our last such gathering, as the designers’ last day on the production is sadly tomorrow (which ended up falling on the Book 3 premiere), and the background painters are finishing up a few weeks behind them. In typical Korra fashion though, we still have an inordinate amount of work to do before they leave! DON’T GO! *sniff* I love this crew. It is bittersweet, because at the same time I am VERY HAPPY about the pre-production finish line fast approaching.

The Hound, wherever you are, I hope that you’re surrounded by your beloved “cheekins”.

I woke up to a friend’s email this morning:"I just woke up from a dream that I had to tell you about immediately. We were writing a story about two Korean gerbil superheroes Jujo and Sochee. We must make this happen."I sent her back this doodle.

I recently discovered Anna Syvertsson’s comics and spent all day forwarding links to my friends. Here is a doodle of me attempting to create it in her style on the back of a script.

I had a fantastic time at the Fandom Society inaugural Cosplay Ball last night. Thanks to my buddies/co-hosts Giancarlo Volpe & Dante Basco for having me as a guest. HUGE THANKS to the ever-gracious Albert for lending me his great Fire Nation Sokka costume, to the equally ever-gracious Trini for lending his Fire Nation Aang costume to my friend and coworker Brandon Hoang, and to Avatar Mom for making those connections happen in the nick of time. And thanks to all the incredibly nice cosplayers I met! It was a pleasure. The event, held in a super slick giant club, went really well, with a robust attendance and a nice vibe. There were so many amazing cosplayers from a wide variety of fandoms, though it seemed like Attack on Titan had the biggest numbers. There were some awesome Avatar/Korra cosplayers as well, the photos of which I will post next. In the photos above: Dante Basco (top), Brandon Hoang (middle), and Giancarlo Volpe sans costume (bottom).

Oh God. I hope my Fire Nation hand pose is accurate…

Poor Paperboy. So many things out to kill him on his daily route! No wonder he had gray hair at 12 years old.
